I have disliked Layla from her first episode on Nashville, but my feelings started to change in the beginning of season 3 in episode 3.01 “That’s Me Without You”. There was a moment there when Layla is lying in bed crying and Will brings her a cup of coffee. She asks if he ever really loved her and if he could change. He replied that he doesn’t know and she cried.

It was a very honest and sad moment. Layla was very vulnerable and we were finally able to see that she really did love Will and wanted him to love her. It wasn’t just a ploy to further her career. I suddenly started feeling sympathy for a girl who I hadn’t wanted to even be on the show. Now, I’m anxious to see what develops for her with Jeff, personally and professionally.
